⚽ Nashville SC Captain at the Olympics

31-year-old Nashville SC defender and captain Walker Zimmerman will join the U.S. men’s soccer team at the Olympics in Paris. Players on men’s Olympic sides are generally required to be 23 and under, but Zimmerman was chosen as one of three older players allowed to each country. [Nashville Post]

  • Nashville now has four athletes in this year’s Olympics: sister swimmers Gretchen and Alex Walsh, discus thrower Veronica Fraley, and Zimmerman.

Where Is It?

It’s time for our weekly photo challenge, where I show you a cool place around Nashville, and you try to guess where it is.

Let’s start by reviewing last week’s challenge and champion:

A gray wall with three cat-sized doorways with cat butts painted above them. A gray kitten walks through one.
You can’t go wrong with an hour spent cuddling kittens and elderly cats. (Margaret Kingsbury / City Cast Nashville)

I took this picture at The Catio Lounge near Opryland Hotel. Catio is a cage-free, nonprofit cat rescue and adoption center that rescues and rehomes more than 1,000 cats a year. For $7-$12, visitors can book hour-long appointments to play with and snuggle the cats — whether or not they plan to adopt. The place is a cat’s paradise, with so many cat toys and resting areas.

Congrats to Hey Nashville reader Dominique Marlow, who correctly guessed the location first! You’re the official cat’s meow for the day.

Dominique told me, “My son … asked if he could just live there and take care of all of them 🤣.” That’s exactly what my daughter said.

Now on to this week’s challenge:

A metal tree sculpture with a rainbow of words coming from the branches to the ground.
I would not recommend cats climb this tree sculpture. (Margaret Kingsbury / City Cast Nashville)

Where is this tree sculpture? I’m giving you an easy one this week, so you better be fast hitting that reply button!
