🎃 Where to trick-or-treat in Nashville
October 28, 2024 · — Adrian González
Mornin’! This is City Cast editor (and fun size candy aficionado) Adrian González filling in for Margaret today. I know that’s only a mildly spicy take, but as a non-sweets person, tiny candy is fun. Regardless of how you prefer your candy, we have some tips below on where to trick-or-treat around Nashville.
Let’s get into it.
Thanks to our exclusive launch sponsor Tecovas, our Western wear faves, for their support.

What's CITY Talking About?

City Cast Nashville contributor Jenn Harbin, aka the Hungry Loner on Instagram, is back on the show to tell us about the restaurants and bars that opened in October, including Maíz de la Vida, Cafe Babu, Lowbar, and more. [City Cast Nashville 🎧]
🗳️ Election Compounds Limbo for DACA Recipients
As the election nears, recipients of protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program are facing heightened political scrutiny, compounded by ongoing legal uncertainties and ineligibility for benefits like in-state tuition and state financial aid. According to data from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, there are more than 7,000 DACA recipients in Tennessee. [Nashville Banner]
📜 The Case for Nashville’s Civil Rights Museum
Civil rights icons like Marcus Garvey made stops in Nashville during the height of the movement, but detailed accounts of our city’s role remain largely unexplored. Local historian and author Betsy Phillips argues it is time for Nashville to have its own civil rights museum to deepen that knowledge. [Nashville Scene]
- Betsy Phillips also wrote about three unsolved bombings during the Civil Rights Movement that shaped Nashville’s future. [City Cast Nashville 🎧]
🍔 In-N-Out Coming to Davidson County
The burger chain purchased a 2.25-acre property in Century Farms for $3.39 million, where it plans to open its first location in the area. The restaurant will be right in the middle of the massive Antioch development alongside the Tanger Outlets and competitors Chick-Fil-A and Whataburger. [Nashville Business Journal 🔒]
