💸 Could our grocery tax end?

November 13, 2024 · 💌 Margaret Kingsbury

I’m back! I’m so grateful I could spend some time with family after my grandmother, Louise “Jackie” Weaver, passed away. She lived in the same house off S. Graycroft in Madison for most of her very long life (98!).

A black and white photo from early 1950s showing my grandfather, grandmother, and another man at a restaurant drinking coffee. They're all white, and the men are in suits. My grandmother is in a dark dress with a flower hat. They're all smiling.
She moved to Nashville from McMinnville to attend secretary school, and then got a job with the state organizing events. (Courtesy of Jan Kingsbury)

Here she is with my grandfather (left) at a work event at the Maxwell House Hotel, a very popular Nashville hotel for politicians that burned down on Christmas in 1961.
