📰 Hunters Lane Senior Arrested for Threat

Hunters Lane High School senior Dorrian Harp was arrested, jailed, and released to his mother on a $10,000 bond for making a threat he says was a joke at school. Under a law that took effect in July, threatening mass violence at school is a Class E felony. Harp has had no other run-ins with the law or behavioral issues at school. [The Tennessean]

👮 MNPD Understaffed

Despite Mayor O’Connell’s 2024 statement that the Metro Nashville Police Department would soon be fully staffed, the MNPD remains more than 100 officers short of its authorized staffing level. Its struggle to retain and recruit officers mirrors national trends. [Nashville Banner]
