U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles (TN-05) called out State Rep. Aftyn Behn (D51-Nashville) on social media this week, claiming she disrupted local Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity. His tweets were subsequently amplified by the Dept. of Homeland Security and Fox News. In response, Behn has been receiving a barrage of hateful calls. 🏢 Mass Layoffs Continue Into May

Nearly 1,000 Middle Tennesseans were laid off in April and May, adding to the 2,500 laid off at the beginning of the year. Saks Fulfillment Center, FedEx, and Southern Hospitality Group laid off the most employees. Companies are only required to report mass layoffs. [The Tennessean]

Nashville ranks 74th out of the 100 cities in Trust for Public Land’s annual ParkScore rating, rising four spots from last year. The study looks at park acreage, investment, access, equity, and amenities. Mayor O’Connell has proposed additional park spending in his new budget, which the Metro Council is currently considering.
