🏁 Speedway Battle Enters Next Lap

What happens next in the battle over the Fairgrounds Speedway? Restore Our Fairgrounds petitioners have gathered enough signatures for a ballot measure that would replace racing with affordable housing in the Metro Charter. 🌳 Nashville’s Parks Need More Trees

According to a new report from the Nashville Tree Conservation Corps, half of Nashville’s 148 parks have less than 33% tree canopy cover. January’s ice storm likely made things even worse. The hottest Nashville parks include Wasioto Park, Fort Negley, and William Edmondson Park, and the most shaded include Beaman, Radnor Lake, and Old Hickory Cemetery. [WPLN]

The playground equipment this time of year is boiling. Every kid should have a shaded, pleasant place to play in the summer, especially in a wealthy city.
