Yesterday, tech giant Oracle announced it would invest $10 million to help sustain the Nashville Symphony. With the additional funding, the symphony’s 2026-2027 season is back on. This follows the symphony’s announcement that it was in a financial crisis and was closing for the season, furloughing its musicians. “It’s an extraordinary relief to be able to welcome a new corporate partner to arts philanthropy in Nashville,” Mayor Freddie O’Connell said in a statement. John Ray Clemmons (D-Nashville) saying that it is the state’s responsibility to carry out executions “in a manner that does not resemble torture.” [🔒 The Tennessean]

📚 Imagination Library at the Airport?

Lydia Popovich, the Nashville comedian behind the petition to rename the Nashville International Airport after Dolly Parton, has another idea for how to honor the late singer’s legacy: an Imagination Library-themed space for travelers, where families could learn about the program and pick up a book for their trip. BNA officials indicate a potential partnership could be in the works. [Fox 17]
