April 1, 2026 · 💌 Margaret Kingsbury
Hey folks! Y’all might be wondering what I’m doing in your inbox this afternoon. We’re trying something new. At the top of each month, we’ll send you a monthly guide to Nashville, like we always do, but we’ll save the news for our morning newsletter. Here, we’ll be talking about the best things to do this month, helpful local tips, tickets to buy, and other fun stuff — in the perfect format to share with friends!

Hacks for a Better April

🌳 Gather Tree Debris
Still have debris from Winter Storm Fern? April 19 is the last day to place debris at the curb for pickup. The Nashville Department of Transportation is currently working on its second pass through the city. Crews will complete a third pass after April 19.
🧺 The Best Neighborhood Picnic in Town
Enjoy April’s wonderful warmer temps by the Cumberland River with us at Shelby Park for Fridays by the River, every Friday from now until May 8. With heaps of excellent food trucks, beer, live music, and activities for the kiddos, this really is the best neighborhood picnic in town. We’re the proud sponsors of the event, so come say hi!
🧑🌾 Get Your Farmers Market On
Many farmers markets reopen this month. It’s a great time to support local farmers and vendors while grabbing some fresh produce, and several have live music and events. Here’s our farmers market guide for every day of the week, and also consider signing up for a local CSA box!
🪻 Yard Work
It’s time to plant your spring garden! Here are seven of our favorite local plant centers to get you started. Plant natives to help our environment and local wildlife. And consider participating in No Mow April, which will also benefit the environment; plus, your lawn will thank you.
